Focusing on the Little Things!

This incredible diorama built by the Dewdney-Alouette Railway Society, DARS, is nestled in the lower levels of the Maple Ridge Museum and span’s over 28 years of love filled labor. The attention to historic detail is expressed in the recreation of the Hammond, Port Haney, and Ruskin areas which have been modeled from photographs around the 1930’s.

The fun doesn’t stop there! They have also created surrounding communities and geographical areas which allows each member to concentrate on what they like to do best. This fully functioning model landscape is complete with sound, lights, and interiors that will amaze you!

We have to say that the DARS open house, hosted the last Sunday of each month from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, is a must see for children and adults alike!
