Cycling/Mountain Biking

Cycling/Mountain Biking

For years, both professional racers and cycling enthusiasts have been coming to Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows for some of the best cycling in the Lower Mainland. They love our network of quiet, well-paved roads, spectacular parks, forested trails, and 30-plus miles of scenic dykes.

With bike lanes on many streets, bike lockups at several local businesses and annual or recurring cycling events, our communities are a great place to get out and enjoy your bike.
Safety First

* In British Columbia it is mandatory for all cyclists (operators and passengers) to wear an approved safety helmet.
* Don’t rely on your cell phone when riding in our forested, back-country trails. Make sure you let someone know where you are and always ride with a buddy.

The Woodlot

Although the Woodlot doesn’t have an official website promoting its spectacular mountain biking, all you need to do is perform a Google search with words like “woodlot, Maple Ridge, mountain biking.” If you see trail names like Blood Donor, Hoots, and Giant Killer, you’re in the right place. The Woodlot is a ‘hike and bike’ mountain with no shuttle option. It is suited for the experienced and skilled mountain biker.

Plan ahead as there are no garbage cans, washrooms or water supply.

Use extreme caution while riding at the Woodlot as it is a working forest with active logging from time to time. Obey all signs.
